Exciting Plans for the KGV
The Team at the KGV are working on plans to improve the facilities at the KGV. Our vision is to ensure that everyone in our community can safely access the grounds and that there are a broader range of activities available to suit all tastes, ages and abilities.
You’ve told us that there is too much focus on big organised sport. That’s why we have developed plans to introduce Nature and Habitat trails with wellbeing walks and tranquillity gardens amongst the 36 acres of woodland and parkland available on the site.
We are also responding to requests by parents to provide safe enclosed spaces for informal play after school and at weekends, where parents can enjoy a coffee and kids can play games on a safe enclosed all-weather games court.
The new play areas and games court will be fully inclusive and include opportunities for small court games like basketball, volleyball, pickleball and five-a-side football.
The site will also benefit from a network of fully accessible paths and suitable for prams and wheelchair users. Improved seating and ‘terraces’ for picnics are also planned.
We hope to be successful in achieving grant funding from Surrey County Council for the plans. To do so will need wide support from the community. You can help us now by participating in our survey by following this link:
